Notice is hereby given that the following instructions are issued in light of Safety of navigation.

ABPmer Water and Sediment Quality Sampling ops

Sampling operations will take place in various locations from the Whitadder Confluence to and including Berwick bay area and are expected to take approximately 3 days per month for the next 12 months, weather and progress permitting. During sampling operations, ABP Wyke (small survey craft) will be stationary on the sample location for a short period acquiring water and sediment samples before relocating to the next sample location.

Provisional Survey Program

All vessels are requested to pass at a safe speed and distance.

VHF Channels 16 and 12 will be monitored by ABP Wyke during survey operations.

  1. A temporary lit buoy Fl.R.3s is in position on the edge of the sand bank, do not use leading marks until past and clear.

Notice is hereby given that the following instructions are issued in light of Safety of navigation.

ABPmer current monitoring – River Tweed

As part of their ongoing work, they have deployed a small seabed frame with a current meter in the river just upstream of the rail bridge and is marked by a orange surface marker, see chartlet below.

All river users are required to give this a wide berth of at least 20 meters.

NOTICE TO MARINERS No5 2026 

Notice is hereby given that the following instructions are issued in light of Safety of navigation.

Trade 4 Event – Saturday 15 August 2026

Please be advised that the Trade 4 event will take place on Saturday 15 August 2026.

The event is scheduled to commence at 12:30 hours and is expected to conclude by approximately 16:30 hours, subject to prevailing conditions.

The area of operation will be confined to the section of the river between the Old Bridge and the Railway Bridge. No participating craft will operate downstream of the Old Bridge or upstream of the Railway Bridge for the duration of the event.

A maximum of two boats will be on the water at any one time. A dedicated safety launch will be in attendance throughout the event to provide safety cover and support as required.

All participants will be briefed on the event procedures and safety arrangements prior to commencement. Every effort will be made to ensure the event is conducted safely and with minimal disruption to other river users.
